Trowel Grade Epoxy Flooring – Napa, CA

If Endurance is Needed

Where hard traffic or extreme demands are commonplace, your epoxy flooring needs trowel grade application. It is the perfect technique available for maximum durability, providing a coating with twice the thickness of our usual business or residential process. Floors that support considerable loads, such as from heavy-duty forklifts, ideally should be coated with trowel grade epoxy. Trowel grade also is recommended where concrete contact with corrosive or caustic chemicals is common.

One caveat about trowel grade epoxy is that because it is thicker, more curing time is likely necessary. Also, there are ideal temperatures for applying trowel grade flooring. Above 70 degrees Fahrenheit, F, the epoxy will harden in 8-12 hours time and the protective clear coat that goes on top should harden in the same amount of time. At that point, it is safe to walk on the epoxy floor, but the full cure necessitates 7 days. Below 70 degrees Fahrenheit, F it takes more time for successful curing. If the temperature drops below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, F, the thickness of a trowel grade epoxy floor really should not be attempted. Thus, this is usually a late spring, summer, or early fall job.

Trowel grade requires significant experience and skills to apply correctly. California Custom Coatings has the staff and equipment required to meet the needs of any commercial or industrial building.
