Here are the typical steps employed when polishing concrete:
- Grinding – A strong grind of the present concrete prevents abnormalities and guarantees the floor sealers attach permanently. We use top quality industrial vacuum machinery to remove the dust produced during the grind.
- Leveling – Areas with faults or cracks are refloated to the same level as the rest of the concrete. This way the polish is perfectly flat.
- Staining – The concrete floor is infused, not just coated, with a color stain of your choosing. Any desired patterns are also added at this time. Stains can be heavy, obscuring the concrete grain, or light, enabling patterns in the concrete to show through like polished wood.
- Transparent protective coat – Floor sealants applied on top of the polished floor fill the pores and emphasize the fabulous gloss. These clear sealers bond to the smoothed concrete with considerable strength, creating a floor that is very low maintenance. For areas where heavy traffic is normal, we use a thicker coat of protective sealers to compensate.
Once concrete polishing is complete, your glass-like, colorful floors are effectively protected from scratching, wear and stains.
