Polished Concrete Floors for Supermarkets

Polished concrete is a long-term, durable solution for dealing with the heavy foot traffic in markets and supermarkets. Unlike tile and vinyl composites, there is no need to wax polished concrete, and that saves a lot of maintenance cost from your cleaning budget. Polishing concrete is easy to do in the early stages of building a market structure, or when you are renovating or remodeling a building to become a supermarket.

How We Polish Concrete

Polishing concrete has a lot of similarities with sanding wood. We start with heavy grit grinding pads and move our way up to finer and finer grades of grit. Along the way, imperfections and surface stains in the concrete are eliminated. The result is a concrete surface that is incredibly smooth, like well-sanded wood, and very shiny. California Custom Coatings uses the dry method of concrete polishing, which is much cleaner than the wet method. To keep the air clean while grinding, our team uses industrial-strength HEPA filters to suck up all the grinding dust.

At the end of the grinding process, you can leave the concrete natural looking or add concrete dyes to create new colors and subtle patterns in the concrete. As a finishing touch, we add a clear protective floor sealer that prevents staining from spills. In areas where heavy traffic is expected, California Custom Coatings goes with a thicker grade of material to guarantee strength over time.
