Urethane concrete is the most durable manner of coating that California Custom Coatings can lay down. While a trowel grade epoxy coat is really enduring, urethane concrete (also named urethane cement) is even tougher. That is because it employs urethane to bind together an engineered cement powder that when 100 percent cured has the flexibility of epoxy combined with the strength of concrete. Urethane concrete top coats can also be stretched to limits not reachable with commonplace epoxy coatings, and the material keeps its ability to be shaped for use with beveled and coved floors.
Applications for Urethane Concrete
Even though epoxy coatings are ideal for covering foundations exposed to cold and hot things on a regular basis, the concrete beneath still faces thermal expansion and contraction from the changes in floor temperatures. By adding a thick layer of urethane cement over the foundation of these locations, not only do you strengthen the floor, but you additionally increase its thermal resistance. This makes urethane concrete useful for workshops, plants, and factories.
