If Strength is a Demand
Where much traffic or higher demands are normal, your epoxy flooring requires trowel grade application. This is the finest technique available for maximum durability, making a surface with twice the thickness of our typical residential or commercial process. Floors that undergo great loads, such as from heavy-duty forklifts, should be covered with trowel grade epoxy. Trowel grade also is recommended where concrete contact with corrosive or caustic chemicals is common.
With heavier epoxies comes additional time for curing. Optimally, trowel grade epoxy is laid at temperatures of seventy degrees Fahrenheit, F or above. Below that, and the epoxy, with its clear coat, takes more time to cure. Optimal curing time is 8-12 hours for each coat. The full cure, when average work can begin again, is after 7 days. Below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, F, trowel grade coats are best not tried.
Trowel grade coats are not for DIYs! Experience and skills are essential, as well as professional troweling tools. That is why California Custom Coatings is here for clients in El Dorado Hills to provide the perfect materials and staff to do the job if trowel grade coats are needed.
