Urethane concrete is the most durable kind of coating that California Custom Coatings can apply. Although a trowel-grade epoxy coat is quite strong, urethane concrete (also named urethane cement) is even more resilient. That is because it uses urethane to bind together an engineered cement powder that when totally cured has the flexibility of epoxy combined with the strength of concrete. The width of urethane cement topcoats may also be stretched to limits not seen with commonplace epoxy coatings, and the material retains its ability to be shaped for use with beveled and coved floors.
Applications for Urethane Cement
Although epoxy coats are ideal for coating concrete floors exposed to cold and hot liquids on a continuing basis, the concrete underneath still faces thermal contraction and expansion from the changes in floor temperature. By laying a thick layer of urethane concrete over the floor of those warehouses, not only do you strengthen the floor, but you also upgrade its thermal resistance. That makes urethane concrete useful for factories, plants and workshops.
Urethane Concrete is Customizable
Urethane coatings may be colored to copy flooring schemes or to separate work areas. They come in various types, and California Custom Coatings helps our Granite Bay clients select the ideal formula, based on their needs.
