Epoxy Flooring Colors and Textures
Epoxy flooring for concrete allows for an incredible selection of color combinations. First, you have the base coat that covers the concrete. That is the initial color option. Afterwards comes choosing granules, micas, or flakes to spread on top of the epoxy. These all have their own specific qualities and come in solitary colors or color mixes. Lastly, a clear topcoat seals everything together and protects your epoxy floor from wear, scratching and stains. Here are some aspects of each type of texture.
Color granules are sandy particles that add texture to what would be an otherwise smooth topcoat. This is critical for areas with much water, oil, grease or other slippery fluids. Granules also create traction for sloped floors and any location where slips and falls are potential dangers. Granules are offered in solid colors or an array of pleasing color combinations.
Color micas add sheen to a floor and really make it look shiny! Think how granite reflects natural light, and you have the effect of mica. The Mayans valued the decorative qualities of mica, adding it to some of their temples for a lustrous effect. You may employ this same technique by requesting mica flakes for your epoxy flooring.
Flakes are colored chips of various sizes and materials that contrast with your floor coat. You may also use set combinations of color flakes or make your own combination. With color flakes it’s a breeze to match a wall color, team colors, business colors, or whatever else your heart desires.
